The republican stage of school Olympiads in foreign and Belarusian languages is taking place in the Vitebsk region

This week, during the school holidays, Vitebsk and Polotsk are hosting over 300 participants of the republican stage of subject Olympiads in five foreign languages and Belarusian language and literature. The grand opening of the knowledge festival took place at the regional philharmonic hall.

Welcoming the students, as well as over 60 team leaders and jury members, the Head of the Education Department Dmitry Khoma emphasized that Vitebsk region has created an excellent foundation for learning foreign languages; for example, in Vitebsk, four out of nine gymnasiums pay special attention to them. In turn, the authorized representative of the Ministry of Education of Belarus, Alla Kazyuchits, noted the high level of organization of the event and promised competent and impartial judging of the competition for young intellectuals.

By the way, based on the results of last year's Olympiads, Vitebsk region ranked third among other regions in terms of the number of diplomas won. Our students are traditionally strong in English, French, and German.

The erudite participants will not only take part in an intellectual marathon but also in an extensive cultural program.
