The Republican holiday "Last Bell" was held in Orsha

Республиканский праздник "Последний звонок» прошел в Орше
The Republican holiday "Last Bell" is planned to be held in the youth capitals of Belarus in the future, making it a tradition. This was announced to journalists before the opening of the holiday for graduates in Orsha by the Minister of Education Igor Karpov.

The minister said that this year about 56 thousand graduates will leave Belarusian schools. They will pass final exams, and then they will face the Centralized Testing and the admission campaign. "Graduates who are entering independent life are our future. I want to wish the youth success, and if their path is complicated by some problems, may they be surmountable. The main thing is that young men and women strive for their goals, and use their knowledge, experience, and personal qualities for the benefit of the people and the country," Igor Karpov noted.

He reported that there are plans to establish a new tradition for holding the republican "Last Bell". "Last year it was held in Minsk, the holiday was a success, and the children came and thanked us for it. Today, the 'Last Bell' is held in Orsha, the youth capital, where students from all over the country have gathered. There is an idea to hold it in the regions, in the youth capital of Belarus, in the future, so that it becomes a tradition," the minister said. Igor Karpov also emphasized the role of the teacher in the education and upbringing of schoolchildren. "We have many talented and interesting teachers. Their role is hard to overestimate; without a teacher, many things are impossible in school. I am convinced that no computer or robot can replace direct communication, as a teacher is interesting as a personality," the minister stressed. The main celebrations of the "Last Bell" are taking place at the Orsha Ice Arena. About 1.7 thousand 11th-grade graduates from all over Belarus are participating in the holiday.

Most of all, of course, there are students from schools in the Orsha district. Among them are Alexander Khristenko from the gymnasium of the city of Baran and Anna Kuzmenko from Orsha. Both graduates say they will miss their friends and teachers who have invested a lot in them. But there is no anxiety before the exams - they prepared for them responsibly. "I want to enter BSU, get educated and become a specialist in applied mathematics and informatics. For now, I plan to stay in postgraduate studies after graduation and combine study and work in an IT company. I have set a goal for myself to develop throughout my life, to find a job where I can constantly grow, learn something new, that's why I chose mathematics and the IT field. In it, to remain in demand, you must develop," the graduate shared his plans. He emphasized that he intends to benefit his country. "I want to become a professional and be useful to Belarus. If I become a teacher, I will help the country by teaching others. If I choose the IT field, then by developing software, including for our economy," Alexander Khristenko summarized.

Anna Kuzmenko intends to become a doctor. After the Centralized Testing, she will see based on her scores which faculty she gets into - general medicine or dentistry at BSMU. "I hope everything works out, I want to help people with my work in the future. After graduating from university, I dream of opening my own medical center. I also do not intend to abandon creative activities, I will develop in vocal direction," says the graduate.

Orsha has turned into a city of youth. Students from different parts of the city walked towards the Ice Arena, cheerfully singing songs by Tim Belorusskikh, Max Korzh, Basta, and other favorites.

Among the crowd of future applicants is Polina Krakasevich from Minsk. The girl is glad that she came to the republican bell, she has the opportunity to see Orsha. "The holiday is interesting, so many peers

from all over the country," Polina says. "I want to become a dentist in the future. I liked and was good at chemistry and biology at school. The fact that my father is a doctor also influenced my choice of profession."

During the republican "Last Bell" ceremony, several graduates received awards in the nominations "Intellect," "Talent," "Champion-2019," and "Leader-2019." These are winners of international and republican Olympiads, contests, and sports competitions. Seven best class advisors – one from each region and Minsk – were also recognized with letters of appreciation from the Minister of Education.

After the awards ceremony, a concert program began at the Ice Arena. Ivan Vabishchevich and the bands NaviBand and "Bez Bileta" will entertain the youth. Alexey Vorobyov will be the headliner. A disco and a festive fireworks display are planned afterwards. The program provides for delegations from the regions and Minsk to spend two days in Orsha. On May 31, an introductory tour of the city and a solemn flower-laying ceremony at the Orsha Kurgan are planned for the graduates.
