The Republican wetland reserve 'Zhada' has appeared in the Vitebsk region

The corresponding decision is contained in the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of August 26, 2015 No. 717. In accordance with the document, the "Zhada" reserve is declared in the Miory and Sharkovshchina districts of the Vitebsk region. The administrations of the specified districts, according to the resolution, are entrusted with its management. In this regard, the Miory and Sharkovshchina district executive committees are instructed within a six-month period to ensure the registration of the new territorial unit in the prescribed manner, as well as the installation of special information signs along the borders of the reserve, the total area of which is 7,118 hectares, and the adoption of other measures to implement this resolution.

The financing of the functioning and protection of the new object, as well as measures related to its declaration, will be carried out from local budgets and other sources not prohibited by legislative acts.

The decision to create a republican reserve was made to preserve valuable forest-bog ecological systems, wild plants and wild animals belonging to species included in the Red Book of Belarus, as well as their habitats and places of growth in their natural state.
