A resource center for the mechanical engineering profile has been opened in Orsha

A resource center for the mechanical engineering profile opened today at the Orsha State College of Mechanics and Economics.

The ribbon was cut by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Nikolai Sherstnev, Minister of Education Igor Karpovich, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies Vladimir Terentyev, and the President's Aide - Inspector for the Vitebsk Region Anatoly Linevich

The festive ceremony was attended by Minister of Education Igor Karpovich, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Nikolai Sherstnev, the President's Aide - Inspector for the Vitebsk Region Anatoly Linevich, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies Vladimir Terentyev, the leadership of the Orsha district, the staff of the educational institution, and honored guests.

"By opening resource centers, we have moved towards more efficient use of the material and technical base. Not every educational institution that trains professional staff has such equipment concentrated in it," emphasized Igor Karpovich. According to him, this approach allows for the rational distribution of financial resources and maintaining these centers in a relevant technical condition. Resource centers are used as platforms for vocational training of students, career guidance for schoolchildren, retraining and professional development of staff, as well as for preparing contestants for republican and international WorldSkills competitions.

The minister noted that the resource center in Orsha is primarily focused on training skilled workers needed by the industrial complex of this region. In total, there are currently 48 resource centers operating in Belarus, 15 of which are equipped with the latest technology. As an example, he cited the Minsk Automotive Resource Center, where a classroom for Euro-5 and Euro-6 diesel engines, which will be produced in "Great Stone," was recently equipped in collaboration with a Chinese company. "This means that the enterprise is preparing to produce such engines, and we already have the equipment to train young people for it," the minister noted. He also added that the need for resource centers is currently balanced, and in the future, the main efforts will be directed towards improving their material and technical base.

According to Nikolai Sherstnev, active work on developing the network of resource centers has been underway in the Vitebsk region since last year. Five resource centers have been opened in the region, and today's is the sixth. "For a manufacturer, the most important thing is to get a highly qualified specialist. This is precisely the goal that the resource center we are opening today is designed to achieve," the governor emphasized.

The resource center complex, equipped with modern training equipment, includes mechanical workshops for milling and turning of materials on small-sized and industrial CNC machines, as well as a building housing four laboratories: electrical engineering and basic electronics; hydraulic drive and hydropneumatic automation; materials science, technologies, and testing of materials; and mechanical engineering technologies.
