SEZ "Vitebsk" resident invests in science
A resident of the FEZ “Vitebsk” foreign enterprise “VIK – Animal Health” intends to allocate at least 2-3 million dollars for research and development of new medicinal preparations of various pharmacotherapeutic groups with their subsequent production.
The enterprise's innovative program is aimed at supporting, first and foremost, university science, emphasized the director Oleg Chekunov in a conversation with a correspondent of “Vitebskiye Vesti” . “We want to participate more deeply in import substitution, so we are ready to offer close cooperation to leading scientific centers of Belarus, including university representatives, and the student scientific community in product development”, – he noted. To implement the program, the company's management plans to hold a series of meetings with scientists in the near future to discuss all working aspects of partnership, up to the possibility of financing the activities of student scientific clubs at universities.
By the way, the volume of planned investments in the development of medicinal preparations is comparable to the size of annual investments
enterprises into modernization. Today, the investment portfolio of “VIK – Animal Health” includes the modernization of the tablet production, a line for the production of powdered drug forms, as well as the construction of a finished goods warehouse. The estimated volume of capital investments in 2014 will be at least 1.2-1.3 million dollars.
