A number of Vitebsk region healthcare facilities will celebrate housewarmings
Tomorrow, Vitebsk region will witness a flurry of housewarmings in healthcare facilities. As Yuri Derkach, Head of the Healthcare Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, told "R", on the anniversary of the October Revolution, a surgical department in Verkhnedvinsk and a neurological department in Beshenkovichi will be opened. The most significant event will be celebrated by the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Hospital, where the first nine-story block building of the medical institution, housing 9 departments, will be commissioned after major repairs.
The health of children will not be overlooked on this festive day either – 6 new operating rooms, including those for ophthalmologists and ENT doctors, will be put into operation at the Children's Regional Clinical Hospital.
There are also many pleasant events at the Regional Oncological Dispensary: special rooms have been prepared here, and the latest equipment has been installed – a computed tomography scanner, a magnetic resonance imaging scanner, and a linear accelerator. The modern equipment, capable of advancing patient diagnostics and treatment to a new qualitative level, was obtained through centralized supply.
Another housewarming awaits the students of the Vitebsk Medical College – a three-story dormitory, which cost about 20 billion rubles to reconstruct, will be solemnly handed over to them. 270 young men and women – future nurses, laboratory technicians, and paramedics – will live and learn the basics of the science of preserving people's health here.
By the way, since the beginning of the current year, more than 250 billion rubles have been spent on repairs, reconstructions, and new construction of healthcare facilities in the Vitebsk region. A significant portion of these funds are extra-budgetary resources earned by medical professionals through the optimization of the healthcare network and expenses, as well as an increase in service exports.
