The native village of Viktor Yanukovych's grandfather in the Dokshytsy district may become the agro-estate "Yanuki"

May 6, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The Dokshitsy District Executive Committee has developed a program for the revival and development of the village of Yanuki, the birthplace of the grandfather of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, the deputy chairman of the Dokshitsy District Executive Committee Mikhail Markovets told a BELTA correspondent. Today, three people live in the village of Yanuki, which is located 45 km from the district center of Dokshitsy. However, the village does not remain without the attention of local authorities: the road is being repaired, the surroundings are being tidied up, and a mobile shop visits. The developed program is aimed at preserving the settlement and creating the agro-estate "Yanuki". The project provides for the construction of cottages for recreation, a mini-cafe, landscaping of the pond's coastal zone, stocking it with fish, and creating road infrastructure. It is also planned to plant a garden and create a workshop for processing fruit and berry crops. According to Mikhail Markovets, the district authorities hope to attract investors to implement this program, both domestic and foreign. The head of the Ukrainian state, Viktor Yanukovych, visited Yanuki twice – in 2003 and 2006, and visited the local cemetery where his ancestors are buried. The grandfather of the Ukrainian president was born and raised in Yanuki, and a few years before the October Revolution, he moved to Donbas. -0-
