The rock marathon "Novopolotsk – a city without drugs" will take place on September 5
The Novopolotsk rock marathon provides an opportunity to hear young people and learn about their interests. This opinion was shared by Vadim Devyatovsky, Chairman of the Novopolotsk City Organization of the Republican Public Association "Belaya Rus", Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Health, Physical Culture, Family and Youth Policy, Chairman of the Belarusian Athletics Federation.
The rock marathon "Novopolotsk - a city without drugs" will be held on September 5. For seven and a half hours, live music performed by bands representing different styles will be played on the city's main square.
The rock festival during the "Belaya Rus Musical Evenings" campaign has become a good tradition for the city of oil workers (held since 2010). "The popularity of the event is growing, this year there was a real buzz for participation - applications were submitted by more than 50 bands from different regions of the country, as well as from Russia. We cannot provide an opportunity for everyone to perform, so we select the best. This Saturday, 18 bands will perform on the central city square, the live sound marathon under the open sky starts at 3:30 PM," said Vadim Devyatovsky. He also added that rock concerts are aimed at supporting talented youth, they "motivate the creative development of bands that compete with each other for the right to perform and thus improve themselves."
The Day of Rock at the beginning of autumn is also a kind of gift to the city for the start of the academic year. "Novopolotsk is a university city, and rock is one of the favorite youth music genres. Therefore, the event is in demand and expected not only by performers but also by the public. It is a real celebration for rock fans and live music enthusiasts," the interlocutor noted.
According to the organizer, events of this kind are interesting not only for young people, but also beneficial for adult audiences. "We must hear young people, know about their interests, understand what young people live by, what they dream about, what worries them," the politician said.
The Autumn Rock Evening in the oil city is traditionally held under the slogan "Novopolotsk is a city without drugs". This is not just a slogan, but a principled position of the organizers and city authorities, which is supported by the concert participants – they talk about the harm of drugs, warning young people against experimenting with their health.
