A romance from K. Breitburg's musical will be performed by a soloist of the Musical Theater at the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" festival.
July 7, Minsk /Corr. BELTA/. Ilona Kazakevich, a soloist of the Belarusian State Academic Musical Theatre, will perform a romance from Kim Breitburg's musical at the XIX International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk". The theatre informed a BELTA correspondent about this.
Artists of the musical theatre are now frequent guests in the city on the Dvina River. In May, they presented one of the most popular productions of recent years there – the rock opera "Juno and Avos" by Alexei Rybnikov, and now Ilona Kazakevich, a laureate of the III International Competition of Young Operetta and Musical Artists, is heading to Vitebsk. She will take part in a creative evening of the Russian composer Kim Breitburg, which will be held on July 10 as part of the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk". For her performance at this concert, Ilona has prepared "Romance of Princess Tarakanova" from the musical "The Blue Cameo" by Kim Breitburg and Karen Kavaleryan.
The renowned Russian composer himself chose Ilona Kazakevich as a potential performer of the role of the legendary Princess Tarakanova and invited the artist to Moscow for a trial recording of a track for the play. In the Russian capital, she worked with the musical director of the production, vocal coach Valeria Breitburg. "However, the musical 'The Blue Cameo' is written to be performed in a distinctly pop style, while Ilona Kazakevich leans more towards classical vocals. As a result, it was decided not to change her style, as the creative individuality of the Belarusian artist is generally well-suited to convey the emotions of her character – Princess Tarakanova," the theatre explained.
Recording one of the musical's compositions is the initial stage of a large project that will continue immediately after Kim Breitburg's creative evening. From Vitebsk, the composer will move to Minsk to hold auditions for artists for the production of the Belarusian version of "The Blue Cameo". The premiere of the musical will take place in February 2011 on the stage of the Belarusian State Academic Musical Theatre.-0-
