June 2, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. The luxury of famous Persian carpets is presented at an exhibition in the Vitebsk Regional Museum of Local Lore, the museum informed a BELTA correspondent. The exhibition features handmade carpets made of silk and wool. The items vary in both size and shape. There are traditional rectangular and round carpets, as well as unusual "star" carpets. The luxurious floral, ornamental, and narrative compositions adorning these works of art evoke thoughts of the wonders and fairy tales of the East, the vanity of existence, and the infinity of the universe. The exhibition also includes copies of calligraphic paintings and calligraphy illustrating the Quran and texts by famous Eastern poets. The harmony of lines and the meticulous execution of the artistic writing captivate with their elegance and perfection. All exhibits can be viewed until July 26. Familiarizing yourself with them will provide unforgettable impressions for both connoisseurs of Eastern art and unprepared viewers.
