Russia, Belarus and Ukraine must unite their potential for the successful development of the three countries - G. Zyuganov

October 28, Minsk / Yekaterina Nechayeva - BELTA /. Russia, Belarus and Ukraine should combine their potential for the successful development of the three countries. This opinion was expressed by the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Russia, head of the CPRF faction in the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov today at a meeting with deputies of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, BELTA correspondent reports. "Our peoples have a historical future only in one case: if Russia, Belarus and Ukraine combine their potential," the Russian politician is convinced. He is sure that if this does not happen, then "we will be mercilessly exploited by rich, strong neighbors." Therefore, in his opinion, everything possible must be done to ensure that relations between countries and peoples "improve, strengthen and develop energetically." At the same time, Gennady Zyuganov urges not to absolutize individual statements by leaders. "We have lived all our lives in one state, in peace and friendship. And suddenly some issues arise that begin to be absolutized. This is wrong," he said. According to the Russian politician, he recently had a thorough conversation with the leadership of Russia regarding Russian-Belarusian relations, and "they understand the need to improve and build relations with dignity." "Contradictions should be treated calmly, and ways to resolve them must be sought," emphasized the leader of the CPRF. For his part, he expressed his readiness to contribute in every way to strengthening cooperation between Belarus and Russia: "I will do everything necessary so that relations develop on an upward trend and nothing overshadows them." Instead of getting bogged down in political disputes, Gennady Zyuganov urged the leadership of both Russia and Belarus to concentrate their efforts on the development of new technologies, transport corridors, market research, and other pressing issues that will help the states cope with the consequences of the global financial and economic crisis. It is precisely in this, according to the leader of the CPRF, that the greatest threat lies for Belarus and Russia, as well as for other countries. As an example of effective cooperation between the two states, Gennady Zyuganov cited the experience of two major European countries - Germany and France, which, despite their historical past, wars, political scandals and contradictions, remain together and jointly improve the lives of their peoples. -0-
