Russia does not rule out the preservation of the previous regime for the import of passenger cars by individuals into the Customs Union after July 1
March 31, Minsk / Vladimir Vasilkov - BELTA /. Russia does not rule out the preservation of the previous regime for the import of passenger cars by individuals into the Customs Union of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan after July 1 of the current year. This was stated today at a press conference in Minsk by the Russian Ambassador to Belarus Alexander Surikov, BELTA correspondent reports.
"It was calculated that an increase in duties on the import of passenger cars will hit the population, which is estimated at $200 million," Alexander Surikov noted. He recalled that customs clearance of cars at the Belarusian-Russian border has been abolished, so it can be assumed that "grey" cars are already entering the Russian market. Perhaps, this situation should be tolerated for some time, he added.
The Russian Ambassador suggested that the previous regime for the import of passenger cars by individuals into Belarus may be preserved even within the framework of the Customs Union until full-scale passenger car assembly production is established in Belarus. -0-
