A club leader from Vitebsk collected money from children for health improvement and paid off Br52 million in loan debt
August 10, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. A club leader from Vitebsk collected money from children for a health resort abroad and paid off Br52 million of her bank loan debt. A criminal case on the fact of misappropriation of entrusted property has been initiated by the Zheleznodorozhny District Department of Internal Affairs of Vitebsk, the head of the Zheleznodorozhny District Department of Internal Affairs, Sergey Blazhevich, told a BELTA correspondent.
According to him, law enforcement officers in the city have encountered such a case for the first time. An experienced 54-year-old teacher, who had been heading an intellectual club in the regional association for extracurricular work for 15 years, in addition to her main activities, had also been offering vouchers to children's health resorts in the Czech Republic and Italy to students from various schools in the city for 10 years. At the end of the current academic year, she again offered students from two gymnasiums and their parents a trip abroad. 27 students and 8 parents agreed to go on the trip. The voucher for children cost 365 euros, and for adults - 465 euros. In addition, each paid Br110 thousand for travel. Thus, the teacher had Br52 million in her hands. But instead of transferring this money to a travel agency, she decided to pay off the debt on loans she had taken from 10 banks in the city, hoping to then take out a new loan to pay for the vouchers. However, she was denied a loan: as it turned out, this woman still owed the banks about Br60 million.
Naturally, there was nothing to buy the vouchers with. The parents of the deceived children wrote statements to the police. During the investigation, it was found out that the teacher bought vouchers to foreign camps from a Minsk travel company and offered them at a 10-15 euro markup. In addition, to obtain loans, she used fictitious income documents, and spent the money on purchasing goods, as she was also an individual entrepreneur.
Sergey Blazhevich does not rule out that further investigation will provide grounds for initiating criminal cases under several other articles. Although under the currently filed article, the teacher faces 3 to 12 years of imprisonment. The suspect is under a recognizance not to leave.
The head of the Department of Internal Affairs drew attention to the unacceptable gullibility of the parents. As it turned out, none of them met with this teacher, did not inquire with the travel agency about the price at which they sell vouchers to these foreign camps, and the money was transferred without any documents. -0-
