Heads of enterprises of the Vitebsk region were awarded prizes for the quality of manufactured products

In modern conditions, systematic work on product quality serves as a guarantee of future significant success in production activities, a mandatory condition for ensuring product competitiveness, and a consequence of implementing highly effective technologies. This is precisely why the laureates of the annual republican and regional quality competitions are among the industry leaders and shape a positive image of the domestic manufacturer.

This was discussed on May 20 during the award ceremony for the winners of the competition for the regional executive committee prize and the republican reviews "Best Goods of the Republic of Belarus in the Russian Federation Market" and "Best Goods of the Republic of Belarus", held at the Concert Hall "Vitebsk". Based on the results of 2014, the successes of 23 enterprises were recognized with these prestigious awards, and another 4 organizations in the region became holders of the corresponding prizes of the Government of the Republic of Belarus.

As emphasized by the Director of the Vitebsk Center for Standardization, Metrology and Certification, Pavel Yakovlev, the current quality level of manufactured products directly depends on how promptly managers can implement international and European standards at all stages of their production. In the Vitebsk region, 327 enterprises have a certified quality management system according to STB ISO 9001. Competitive conditions for supplying products to foreign markets include the implementation of quality and food safety management systems based on HACCP principles. Such systems are certified at 37 business entities. Six manufacturers have implemented the ISO 22000 standard, which allows tracing product safety throughout the entire chain "from field to table", which is preferred in European Union countries.

A eloquent confirmation that the local food industry is developing in line with global trends in the consumption of environmentally friendly products is the presence of domestic products with the "Natural Product" mark on the shelves of our stores. Today, 10 enterprises in the region have received the right to use this marking for 109 product names. Another 7 manufacturers have successfully passed the inspection for compliance with European requirements and received the right to apply the CE marking to 107 products.

In addition, 25 enterprises have implemented and certified environmental management systems according to ISO 14001 standards, which contributes to the organization of production in compliance with environmental regulations. Almost 130 organizations have certified occupational safety management systems for compliance with STB 18001.

Participation in competitions for achievements in quality helps manufacturers to take a fresh look at the management tools they have created and motivates them to improve them, added Pavel Yakovlev. Since 2000, 54 business entities have become laureates of the regional executive committee prize, and 37 have confirmed this honorary title. This time, the First Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Gennady Grebnev, presented commemorative diplomas to the heads of OJSC "Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant", CJSC "Orsha PTF "Svitanak", Polotsk Signaling and Communications Division of UP "Vitebsk Branch of Belarusian Railway", Polotsk Bakery Branch of OJSC "Vitebskhlebprom".
