Easter is a symbol of the triumph of life, goodness, and justice. The roots of Christianity in Belarus are on the Vitebsk land, where at the end of the 10th century Polotsk became the center of Christianity for the Eastern Slavs. This year, one of the oldest abodes in Eastern Europe – the Holy Euphrosyne Stavropegic Convent in Polotsk – celebrates its 900th anniversary.
The spiritual renewal of society has always been based on the unity of peoples, love for one's neighbor, and respect for the Fatherland. Today, the role of Christianity is growing. It is especially important to remember the spiritual revival and education of the younger generation, based on high moral ideals. The formation of a person striving for good and justice is the key to the prosperity of the Vitebsk region and the entire country.
