The leadership of the Vitebsk region sent congratulations on the Day of Remembrance of Soldiers-Internationalists

Dear soldiers-internationalists! Dear countrymen!

The Day of Remembrance of Soldiers-Internationalists is a significant date in the life of our country. February 15, 1989, went down in history in connection with the completion of the withdrawal of the limited contingent of Soviet troops from Afghanistan. On this day, we pay tribute and express gratitude to all servicemen who defended the interests of the Motherland in international military conflicts and died while performing their military duty.

For thousands of our fellow citizens – those who served in the military outside the Fatherland, fulfilling their international duty – this date symbolizes peace and tranquility on earth. Thousands of Belarusian families suffered from the war. We share the pain of mothers and widows, and bow our heads to the bright memory of the fallen heroes. May their memory be eternal!

The past years have distanced us from those military events, but have strengthened our understanding of the pricelessness of life, peace, happiness, and prosperity of our Motherland. Today, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus stand guard over national interests and the well-being of citizens, honorably confronting international terrorism.

Thank you to all the soldiers-internationalists who are currently conducting military-patriotic work with the youth. May this date serve as a reminder of how important it is to preserve and maintain peace and harmony in the country.

Please accept our sincere wishes for good health, happiness, and well-being for you and your families!

Sincerely,

N.N. Sherstnev,                                                           V.V. Terentyev,
