The leadership of the Vitebsk region addressed the internationalist soldiers, veterans of the war in Afghanistan

Dear Compatriots!

Today we honor the memory of the feat of soldiers who fulfilled their international duty in the Republic of Afghanistan and participated in the settlement of international military conflicts.

February 15, 1989, went down in history as the day the withdrawal of the limited contingent of Soviet troops from Afghanistan was completed, where our servicemen showed bravery and selflessness in the fight against international terrorism. On this day, we pay tribute and express gratitude to all servicemen who defended the interests of the Motherland.

For our contemporaries, those who served in the military outside the Fatherland, the Day of Remembrance of Internationalist Soldiers symbolizes peace and tranquility on earth. We share the pain of mothers and widows who lost their sons and husbands in that war. Their feat will live forever!

May the courage and resilience of the defenders of the fraternal people, their valor and bravery serve as an example for modern youth.

Thank you to all internationalist soldiers who remain true to patriotic ideals today. May this date remind us of the importance of maintaining peace and harmony in our country and on the planet.
