This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the enterprise's chief engineer, Valery Naumchik. The main part of the funds will be directed towards improving the energy efficiency of bakeries. For this purpose, it is planned to install a Czech proofer-oven unit for the production of shaped bread at the Vitebsk bakery in workshop No. 1, and to continue reconstruction with placement in workshop No. 2. A number of enterprises will have to modernize their confectionery sections. For example, the old boiler will be replaced in the confectionery workshop at the enterprise in Orsha, and new energy-efficient ovens for the production of bakery and confectionery products will be installed in Novopolotsk, Glubokoye, Verkhnedvinsk, Novolukoml, and Lepel. In general, the replacement of oven equipment at "Vitebskhlebprom" bakeries is nearing completion. Thus, over the past years, more than 40 outdated ovens have been replaced, which is 90% of all available ovens. This work is planned to be fully completed during 2010-early 2011. Its main result will be a reduction in energy costs and the emergence of new opportunities for product range development, noted Valery Naumchik. In 2009, "Vitebskhlebprom" enterprises produced 57.5 thousand tons of bakery products and 1.4 thousand tons of confectionery products worth Br129.7 billion, which is 8.7% more than in the previous year. Products worth over $1 million were exported. The share of new types of products was over 30%. The energy saving indicator was minus 14.4% against the target of minus 12%. The profitability of sales for January-November 2009 was 8.9%. "Vitebskhlebprom" includes 11 bakeries, the construction and installation enterprise "Vitebskhlebstroy," and the agricultural enterprise "Prozhektor." The average number of employees at the enterprise is over 2.7 thousand people. -0-
