From December 25, a ban on burbot fishing will be introduced in the Vitebsk region

С 25 декабря на территории Витебской области вводится запрет на лов налима
From December 25, 2019 to February 28, 2020, a fishing ban for burbot is established in the Vitebsk region.

As reported by Vyacheslav Soldatov, Deputy Head of the State Control Department of the Vitebsk Regional Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Flora, it is also forbidden to be within 1 km of the shoreline of water bodies with this type of fish. For each burbot caught, the offender is obliged to compensate for the damage caused to nature in triple the amount – 27 base units.

With the onset of the current winter, fans of the very popular ice fishing for pike on live bait should remember that no more than five fishing rods can be used simultaneously and only during daylight hours. Each of them must be signed with the fisherman's last name and initials. Fishing rods must not be left unattended, otherwise they will be confiscated by environmental protection service officers. Violators of the rules face a fine from 20 to 50 base units.
