From November 3, hunting for fur-bearing animals is open in the Vitebsk region
Fur-bearing Animal Hunting Season Opens
Hunting season for fur-bearing animals: hare, marten, mink, opens on November 3. A permit must be issued for wolf, fox, and raccoon dog.
Hunting for licensed animal species — elk, European roe deer, beaver, polecat — continues.
The hunting season for waterfowl is not yet closed: duck, woodcock, goose, hazel grouse, grey partridge.
During this period, control over hunters will be strengthened to ensure they do not violate the rules. There are many instances of poachers illegally shooting wild animals without a license.
As reported by Senior State Inspector of the Regional Inspectorate for Fauna and Flora, Alexey Bordyukov, a court recently heard the case of a Minsk resident who hunted in the Komai hunting grounds of the Dokshitsky district, his native area. He illegally killed a female wild boar with four embryos. The environmental damage amounted to 32 million rubles. The poacher was found guilty, sentenced to one year in prison, with confiscation of his rifle and a three-year ban on hunting.
