From May 31 to July 1, a ban on catfish fishing is established in the Vitebsk region
From May 31 to July 1, 2022, a ban on catfish fishing is in effect. As reported by Vyacheslav Soldatov, Deputy Head of the Vitebsk Regional Inspectorate, it is also prohibited to be within 1 km of the shoreline of water bodies with this type of fish.
In addition to a fine (up to 30 basic units), for each caught catfish, the offender is obliged to compensate for the damage caused to nature in triple the amount – 12 basic units (384 rubles). If the damage amounts to 100 or more basic units, criminal liability may arise.
