With gratitude for preserving the nation's health - medics of the region were congratulated in Vitebsk
The Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, thanked the medical staff for their work. There are about 20,000 of them in the region. "This is an army that fights for the health of the nation. The status of a medical worker has always been high, even if we consider the competition for admission to medical educational institutions. The disease that came to us a year ago has elevated the status of doctors to a new level; people have realized how difficult it is to live and be in society without the protection of medical professionals. Those who have been in the grip of coronavirus have thanked doctors more than once," said the governor. On behalf of the residents of the Vitebsk region, Nikolai Sherstnev wished the people in white coats good health, family well-being, and success.
In the northern region, about Br155 million has been spent on the construction and modernization of healthcare facilities over the past five years. More than 100 facilities have been commissioned, and medical equipment worth Br74 million has been purchased. A network of inter-district medical centers has been created and is developing. The volume of high-tech medical care provided is increasing.
"2020 was a real test of resilience for medicine, fundamentally changing the lives of the entire society. We faced a new reality and a serious challenge – the coronavirus pandemic. Colossal physical and psychological loads arose, requiring maximum mobilization of all resources. However, the centralized management system allowed for the successful implementation of the necessary set of measures to combat COVID-19, and the medical community demonstrated a high level of responsibility, solidarity, and readiness to work in a complex epidemiological situation," emphasized Mikhail Vishnevetsky, Head of the Main Department for Healthcare of the Regional Executive Committee.
During the concert, words of gratitude to the people in white coats were heard from representatives of various professions. The contribution of everyone who has dedicated their lives to protecting people's health to achieving the set goals is invaluable. Thanks to their knowledge, experience, and talent, patients regain their health and return to a full life, the speakers noted.
