16 mothers and their children were congratulated on Family Day at the Vitebsk Regional Maternity Hospital

Meeting of "Graduates" Held at Vitebsk Regional Maternity Hospital, Dedicated to Family Day.

This is the second time the maternity hospital has hosted a festive event inviting mothers and their babies born at this healthcare facility. The traffic police and the regional emergency services department set up interactive zones near the maternity hospital, where children and their parents were invited to participate in educational contests such as a safety lottery, checkers with fire extinguishers, and to take photos with special equipment and interact with a service dog. The little ones were immersed in games, while their mothers and fathers had the opportunity to once again express their gratitude to the maternity hospital staff for their help and support.

Sixteen mothers who recently gave birth at the regional maternity hospital received memorable gifts from representatives of the regional executive committee, the Main Directorate of Traffic Police, and the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Among them was Olga Ledvits, who had her sixth child. Her husband, Nikolay, was also at the celebration, and the happy couple shared how they decided to have such a large family. Neither of them had planned to have so many daughters and sons, but each baby was welcomed with joy and gratitude as a gift from above. Olga's mother helps her with household chores. The grandchildren love their grandmother so much that as soon as she leaves, they start looking for her around the rooms and worry. The head of the family noted that a large family is immense happiness, but also a great responsibility, and as a man, his primary concern is to ensure that his loved ones have everything they need. The couple wished the residents of the region not to be afraid of difficulties and to remember that children fill a home with joy and happy smiles.

"For me, this holiday is especially touching because I myself am a 'graduate' of this maternity hospital and gave birth to my daughter here. The birth of a child is a special mystery and special feelings from the fact that we continue through our children. Our state attaches great importance to the family, support for motherhood and fatherhood, child protection, and maintaining the prestige of family values. Assistance to large families contributes to many residents of our region and Belarus deciding to have not one or two, but many children – five, six, or even more. We all understand that the future of the country depends, in part, on demographic security," noted Marina Novitskaya, Head of the Main Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Chairperson of the regional organization of the public association "Belarusian Women's Union," who was present at the celebration.

She also emphasized that the role of fathers in raising children is also significant, so heads of families are widely involved in the process of raising sons and daughters, invited to parent-teacher meetings so that dads can see the progress of their children, can set a worthy example for the younger generation in learning and love for family and their native land.
