With love for the traditions and history of our native land

Last week, the large-scale tourism exhibition-forum "Proftur-2016" was held in Minsk, organized by the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus. Through the presentation of new tourist routes, the truly unique history of the Vitebsk region, which everyone should know, was practically demonstrated. However, the main goal of the exhibition was to revive interest in trade union tourism.

In March last year, the Federation of Trade Unions announced the Republican competition "Belarus in a New Image". Within its framework, district and city trade union associations, together with executive authorities, developed previously unknown excursion routes, highlighting unique local attractions. At the "Proftur-2016" exhibition, 4 competitive projects from the Vitebsk region with a "new tourist image" were among the more than 150 presented at the exhibition and reached the final of the Republican competition.

This is the Polotsk District Trade Union Association (Chairperson Svetlana Yanichek) with the route "Star Diadem of the Polotsk Land"; the Postavy District Trade Union Association (Chairperson Inna Daletskaya) with a 2-day route "From Myadzel to Postavy along the WWI Front Line: Nature, History, Culture"; the Miory District Trade Union Association (Chairperson Alexander Boreiko) with a 4-day cycling route of 165 km, "Yelnya Round-the-World Trip", and the Sharkovshchina District Trade Union Association (Chairperson Igor Malyugin) with a route through the historical places of Sharkovshchina, "About Those Who Believed and Created!".
