Residents of Vitebsk and guests of the regional center can get acquainted with the unique facsimile edition "The Book Heritage of Francysk Skaryna"

This year, our country celebrates the 500th anniversary of Belarusian book printing.

The heritage of the first printer, Francysk Skaryna, "the son of Polotsk," who published the first Belarusian book, "The Psalter," in Prague, is dedicated to an exhibition of rare and modern publications at the M. Gorky Central City Library. The book exhibition will open on February 9, and the central place in it is occupied by the unique facsimile edition "The Book Heritage of Francysk Skaryna." These are five volumes, the release of which was the first part of a nationwide publishing project to recreate the era of F. Skaryna, returning his heritage to the world. It is being implemented by the National Library of Belarus in conjunction with patrons and is timed to coincide with the 500th anniversary of Belarusian book printing.

As reported by the director of the M. Gorky Central City Library, Galina Danilova, the exhibition has launched a large program of events. As part of the celebration, over fifty events will be held throughout the year in 18 libraries of the Vitebsk Library System.
