May 11, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Samantha Fox, Chris Norman, Alessandro Safina and the "Buranovskiye Babushki" will take part in the opening concert of the XXI International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk". Today, the festival's poster was presented to journalists by the General Director of the "Vitebsk" Cultural Center, Director of the Festival Directorate Rodion Bass, BELTA correspondent reports.
The main concert of the "Slavianski Bazaar" will also feature Irina Allegrova, Valeria, Lev Leshchenko, Boris Moiseev, Alexander Rosenbaum, the Igor Moiseyev Academic Ensemble of Folk Dance, Alexander Rybak, Andrey Danilko's Theater, and Anne Veski. The names of the Belarusian participants of the opening concert will be announced later, as well as the performers at the gala concert of Belarusian arts masters on the national culture day. For the first time in the entire history of the festival, Belarus is taking such a long pause before announcing the names of its pop stars.
Russia and Ukraine have already decided on those who will be entrusted to represent their art this year. The Igor Moiseyev Academic Ensemble of Folk Dance will give a jubilee concert dedicated to the ensemble's 75th anniversary on Russia's Culture Day. Andrey Danilko's Theater will be the most famous at the concert dedicated to Ukraine's Culture Day. Traditionally, the festival will host the Day of the Union State.
The anniversary of the famous Russian dance company will not be the only one at the current "Slavianski Bazaar". "We are 25! Everything starts anew" - this is the title of the festive program given by the National Concert Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus under the direction of Mikhail Finberg. Sergei Drobotenko, Maxim Dunaevsky, and Victoria Pier-Marie will perform with the orchestra. If Mikhail Finberg's orchestra celebrates its quarter-century existence, then Lev Leshchenko has celebrated his half-century stage career and 70th birthday. The benefit performance of the artist loved by many will take place on the stage of the Summer Amphitheater at the "Slavianski Bazaar".
During the festival, the Summer Amphitheater will also host solo concerts by Valeria, Alexander Rosenbaum, Irina Allegrova, and Sergei Penkin. Another venue for the festival, as is tradition, is the "Vitebsk" Concert Hall. Pelageya, Boris Moiseev will perform here, and the "Theater Meetings" project performances will be held.
The festival's theater program consists of performances by Russian theaters, independent productions, and the M. Gorky National Academic Drama Theater. Most of the performances have one thing in common: they feature actors whom the audience knows more from television: Alexey Panin, Zhanna Epple, Olesya Zheleznyak, Yulia Menshova. Rodion Bass noted with particular pride that Belarusian theatrical art will be represented at the festival this year by the M. Gorky Theater with its performance "Pane Kohanku," which features over 40 actors, including Rostislav Yankovsky.
The festival's film program includes Belarusian, Russian, and Lithuanian cinema. Viewers will see the feature films "Lonely Island," "Home," "Hot Heart," and "House of the Wind."
The main intrigue of the festival throughout its existence is the international pop song performers competition "Vitebsk." This year's singing competition will be attended by 21 artists from 21 countries. For the first time, national qualifying rounds were held in Latvia, Estonia, and Moldova, in addition to Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine. Belarus will be represented in the competition by 23-year-old Evgeny Dolich, Russia by 22-year-old Anastasia Kozlova, and Ukraine by 29-year-old Galina Konakh. The jury of the competition will be headed by composer Maxim Dunaevsky, and its members include popular performers - Alexander Tikhanovich, Alessandro Safina, and Anne Veski.
The children's music competition is no less intense than its older counterpart. This year, the international children's music competition celebrates its 10th anniversary. It will be attended by 21 young singers from 18 countries. Belarus will be represented by Evgenia Klepitskaya and Liza Muravyova, Russia by Aigul Valiullina and Anna Muzafarova, and Ukraine by Pollyanna Ryzhak and Valeria Khomenko. All six girls are winners of national qualifying rounds. The jury of the children's competition will be headed by composer and singer Jemal Sepiashvili.
The grand closing ceremony of the festival will take place on July 18. Alsou, Nadezhda Babkina, Lolita, Denis Maidanov, and Soso Pavliashvili will take part in the concert. However, the festival will not end with the grand closing ceremony. Encore concerts will be held for two more days. The final chord will be a solo performance by Garik Sukachov.
The International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" will be held from July 12 to July 18.
