Airplane, fountains, registry office: what else will appear in Senno for the regional "Dazhynki"

Construction and city improvement works have been ongoing since spring and are now nearing completion. By September, it is planned to commission the new registry office building with all its facilities, and a fully modernized physical culture and sports complex with a stadium – these are the main facilities that the city has been most anticipating. "In total, work is being carried out at 188 sites. The reconstruction of the House of Culture and the district museum of local lore is almost complete – we are commissioning them in August. Only the sign needs to be placed at the school of arts, and the library has also been renovated. Work continues on secondary schools No. 1 and 2 and two kindergartens. A total of Br900 thousand has been allocated from the district budget for the listed cultural and educational facilities. Additionally, the central district hospital has been completely reconstructed," said Zoya Fomina, Deputy Chairman of the District Executive Committee for Social Affairs. Most of the listed buildings are located in the city center around the main square, which has been transformed into a park, also becoming one of the key improvement sites. Paved paths, which will soon frame flowerbeds and thuja alleys, lead to a memorial sign in honor of Matryona Markevich, the creator of the ornament on the state flag.

Further in the park, a new fountain has been erected practically from scratch, and a complex of children's playgrounds has been created. Meanwhile, the new registry office building includes an entire architectural ensemble with a large fountain and the sculptural composition "Newlyweds" by Vitebsk sculptor Ivan Kazak, which will soon be delivered from the regional center. The registry office will serve as a kind of gateway to the updated city park. Paths are currently being laid here, landscaping has already begun, and benches have been installed. "Our housing and communal services and a contractor from Vitebsk are repairing 31 apartment buildings, mainly from the priority list; electrical installation work is included in the current repairs in some places. The adjacent territories are being improved. We are carrying out capital repairs of central roads with a pedestrian zone and the installation of new fences and lighting poles. The entrance to the city has now become "smooth" - the best asphalt is laid there," added Natalya Vizner. Also, in the courtyards, territories have been designated for organizations of the district, which, on a patronage basis, are engaged in landscaping and creating playgrounds. "Since July 11, the "Tornado" detachment of 14 people, mainly students of the Vitebsk State Technical College, has been working in the city.
