The most athletic work collectives were determined by the inter-branch Spartakiad of the region's trade unions

Vladimir Terentyev, Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, participated in the opening ceremony held at the Central Sports Complex. He noted that our teams – gas workers, medics, financiers, who participate in republican branch competitions, if they don't win, they are among the prize-winners. Everyone else should strive to catch up with the leaders.

Ivan Vozmitel, Chairman of the Regional Trade Union Association, emphasized that the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus pays great attention to a healthy lifestyle, physical culture, and sports for the harmonious development of workers. It is gratifying that in recent years the regional Spartakiad has been attracting more and more participants.

More than 400 athletes from 17 teams of branch trade unions competed for the strongest positions in volleyball, mini-football, speed and strength all-around, table tennis, darts, air rifle shooting, kettlebell lifting, tug-of-war, and cycling tourism techniques.

 

For the third consecutive year, the unified primary trade union organization of UP "Vitebskoblgaz" won the championship based on the competition results.

Representatives of the regional organization of the healthcare workers' trade union were only two points behind. In third place was the unified district trade union organization of the Vitebsk branch of Belarusian Railways.
