The most well-kept Belarusian villages and agro-towns are located in the Vitebsk region
As a result of 2015, three locations on the map of the Vitebsk region were among the winners in the annual republican competition for sanitary condition and improvement of settlements of the Republic of Belarus.
Laureates were determined in five categories depending on the number of inhabitants.
– Pridvintsy were recognized as the best in category V "rural settlements and agro-towns". These are the agro-town of Sarya of the Verkhnedvinsk district, the village of Parafyanovo of the Dokshitsy district, and the village of Luzhesno of the Vitebsk district. As a reward for high achievements, they were awarded a challenge pennant, a corresponding certificate, and 800 basic units each from the republican budget, – reported Svetlana Lyatyaga, Head of the Investment and Public Utilities Department of the Housing and Communal Services Directorate of the Regional Executive Committee.
According to the competition regulations, at least 70% of these funds are directed towards the improvement and development of urban economy, and up to 30% – towards awarding heads of local executive and administrative bodies, employees of enterprises, organizations, and institutions that have achieved the highest results in improving, landscaping, and sanitary cleaning of settlements.
The commission also noted positive dynamics in this area in Vitebsk and the extensive work carried out in Tolochin, said Svetlana Sergeevna.
