Sanitary doctors are closing Vitebsk schools for quarantine from November 4

November 3, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Quarantine measures will be introduced in schools and medical institutions of Vitebsk from November 4, Deputy Head of the Healthcare Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Sergey Tsyrkin told a BELTA correspondent today. According to him, the incidence rate of respiratory infections in the regional center as of November 2 has been exceeded sixfold. Doctors did not wait for the three days of exceeding the incidence threshold required to introduce quarantine measures and took preventive measures. In this regard, schools will be closed for seven days, visits to patients in inpatient medical institutions will be restricted, and sick leaves will be issued for five days at once. A several-fold excess of the incidence threshold is also observed in other control cities - Polotsk, Novopolotsk, and Orsha. It is possible that quarantine measures will be introduced there from tomorrow. The epidemiological situation in rural regions remains calm. According to the Vitebsk Regional Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health, as of November 2, diagnoses of "ARVI", "ORS", and "influenza" have been established in 6,297 patients in the region, of whom 2,878 are children. Meanwhile, the pharmaceutical fever has reached Vitebsk. The number of buyers in pharmacies has significantly increased. By lunchtime, oxolinic ointment, interferon, and gauze bandages had disappeared from some pharmacies. According to pharmacists, the deficit will be replenished in the coming hours. Commenting on the rush for medicines, Sergey Tsyrkin noted that it is commendable when people take care of their health and take preventive measures. "However, the rush for medicines is not entirely justified," he believes. Vitebsk doctors will hold a TV broadcast with residents of the region today and talk about the epidemic situation in the region and measures to prevent morbidity. -0-
