The State Border Committee team won the BFSO "Dynamo" cross-country skiing championship

February 18, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. The team of the State Border Committee of Belarus became the winner of the championship of the republican state-public association BFSO "Dynamo" in cross-country skiing for the first time. The championship concluded today in Novopolotsk. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Vitebsk regional organizational structure of "Dynamo". In a fierce competition, the border guards outran the five-time winner of the competition, the team of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, which this time had to settle for second place in the overall standings. The athletes of the Ministry of Internal Affairs team showed the third result. The intrigue of the championship persisted until the final relay race of 4x5 km. Its results determined the distribution of prize places in the team championship, while for the second year in a row, the KGB team, having performed unsuccessfully in the relay, remains without awards. Representatives of the State Border Committee Evgeny Markoshansky, Viktor Bobkov, and Yuri Efremenko left no chance for their rivals in the individual men's 10 km race, taking three prize places. The best among women in the 5 km race was Yulia Serafimova from the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Among men in the senior age group (over 40 years old), Yuri Smyk (Ministry of Emergency Situations) covered the 5 km distance the fastest. Winners and prize-winners in individual and team events were awarded cups, medals, and valuable prizes. A total of about 50 athletes took part in the championship as part of eight teams representing the law enforcement agencies of Belarus, as well as the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the State Customs Committee, and the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The competitions were held at the Novopolotsk Olympic Reserve School as part of the BFSO "Dynamo" "Sports Brotherhood" Spartakiad for law enforcement agencies. -0-
