The checkpoint of the Vitebsk Mechanical Plant caught fire early this morning, the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations informed a BELTA correspondent. Around 5 a.m., the "101" service received a report from an eyewitness about a fire in the checkpoint premises of RUP "Vitebsk Mechanical Plant". Upon arrival at the scene, a sofa was observed burning inside the checkpoint building. The building is detached, single-story, brick, with dimensions of 8x10 m in plan, and a reinforced concrete floor. EMERCOM rescuers saved a watchman born in 1965 from the checkpoint. The victim, unconscious, with burns to the head and body of degrees 2-3 over an area of 40% and poisoning by combustion products, was taken to the regional clinical hospital. The cause of the fire and the damage are being established.-0-
