Today marks the deadline for the registration of candidates for local councils
The regional election commission has already determined the duration and approved the schedule for allocating airtime for contenders on "Radio – Vitebsk". Each candidate is entitled to one free radio broadcast, which will be provided on weekdays from January 22 to February 12.
In addition, the regional election commission has decided on the method of informing voters about the income and property of potential deputies. Such information will be available in local print media in the announcement of the election commissions on candidate registration.
While contenders are preparing for campaigning, voters are preparing for voting and clarifying the rules of conduct at polling stations. According to republican media, the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission, Lidiya Yermoshina, answering a question from students at a practical seminar of the Minsk City Committee of the BRSM, explained that taking selfies in the voting booth is not prohibited. At the same time, she noted that photographing the ballot is forbidden, and filming at polling stations is permitted only for media representatives.
