Selfies on an ice throne, a drum show, and themed photo zones. How the region's main New Year's tree event went
Invitations to the musical "The Snow Queen. Reboot" were received by excellent students, winners of subject Olympiads, successful young athletes, laureates and prize-winners of creative competitions and festivals, children from large, foster, and low-income families.
The children got into the New Year's spirit, took selfies on the ice throne of the fairy-tale mistress of northern cold and ice, danced with Sasha Minyonok, the Belarusian participant of "Eurovision-2016", who played the role of Kai, and received sweet gifts from the chairman of the regional executive committee, Nikolai Sherstnev.
On the eve of the celebration, representatives from the 10 most remote districts of the region arrived in Vitebsk. A rich excursion and cultural entertainment program was prepared for the children, the final chord of which was a celebration in the "Vitebsk" Concert Hall, where guests from other regions and the regional center joined them.
The children gladly made memorable souvenirs in Santa Claus's workshop, played on entertainment grounds, and did not miss the opportunity to take a striking photo in themed photo zones.
And with the beginning of the interactive performance, it seemed they didn't let their smartphones out of their hands at all. They tried to capture its brightest moments – the drum and light show, Gerda's ride in a real retro car, her journey on a bike with a tough-looking deer at the wheel.
For the first time, pupils of the Lomashovskaya kindergarten-basic school of the Gluboksky district, Vitalina Gavrilchik and Ulyana Voytekhovich, were present at the main Christmas tree of the Vitebsk region. The girls, one of whom is a winner of subject olympiads and is fond of decorative and applied arts, and the other is a prize-winner of the intercultural communications festival in a foreign language, said that they really enjoyed the New Year's performance and are happy to be among those who attended such a large-scale and vibrant celebration.
There are just over 50 students in their school, and every year, those distinguished in studies, sports, or creative competitions are rewarded with invitations to the New Year's performance in Vitebsk.
– The regional Christmas tree is the main New Year's event for children from all regions of the Vitebsk region. They will share the festive mood they gained here with their families, friends, and classmates. I would like this magical New Year's atmosphere and congratulations to reach every remote village in the rural hinterland, – noted Nikolay Nikolayevich.
In total, within the framework of the current charity event "Our Children," as reported by Dmitry Khoma, the head of the main department for education of the regional executive committee, over three thousand New Year's gifts, purchased at the expense of the regional budget, will be presented to the young residents of the Vitebsk region.
