Rural schools in the Vitebsk region received 25 new buses

New MAZ 257S model buses were received by rural schools of the region today. A large-scale fleet renewal will ensure children's safety and comfortable transportation to and from school. The vehicles are specifically designed for rural areas. The developers have taken into account all the requirements of the Customs Union's technical regulations for school bus safety.

– A wonderful gift for our children for September 1st. These buses are made by our specialists. This is a source of pride for our manufacturers, for our country, – said the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin.

The symbolic ignition key for the buses was handed over by the General Director of OJSC "MAZ" Management Company of the Holding "Belavtomaz" Valery Ivankovich to the Head of the Main Department for Education of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Dmitry Khoma.

School buses were purchased using the regional budget. 4.4 million Belarusian rubles were allocated for these purposes. The region's school bus fleet is fully ready for transporting children this year and numbers over 280 vehicles. More than 9,000 rural schoolchildren are transported to school. In some districts, the daily mileage of buses exceeds 250 kilometers.
