Agriculture, natural resource use, and tourism are among the most profitable business directions in the Vitebsk district

To attract investment in the district's economy, the authorities are assisting business people who are ready to create and develop various types of production on favorable terms.

As reported by Viktor Dorozhkin, Deputy Chairman of the District Executive Committee, 3 projects with a total cost of 406.3 billion rubles are currently being implemented. The construction of a roadside service facility near the village of Sushchevo is nearing completion; by mid-year, OJSC "Monolit" plans to launch a tourist complex; and the Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Farm is investing in the organization of compound feed production. In total, since 2011, 7 out of 16 investment agreements concluded for the organization and modernization of various productions have been fulfilled.

To help active business representatives navigate promising business opportunities, taking into account the geographical location, natural features, and previously created infrastructure, the District Executive Committee has developed a list of favorable proposals. For example, those interested in agriculture can consider plots allocated for a rabbit farm near the village of Kurino, a sheep farm near the villages of Bliny or Pestunitsa, a dairy complex near the village of Ranino, or a pig farm near the village of Mishutki.

In addition to

agriculture, there is potential in such sectors as woodworking, peat extraction, logistics, and agro-ecotourism. OJSC "Rudakovo" offers an interesting project for the extraction and bottling of mineral water. Currently, research has been conducted on the chemical composition of the water, a well has been drilled, and a power transmission line has been connected.

— Our proposals are also attractive because rural businessmen, according to current legislation, have benefits, — emphasized Viktor Vasilyevich. — For example, in terms of taxation. In addition, there are no problems with labor resources, and proximity to the regional center is a good prerequisite for doing business. And for the village, especially where there is a tense employment situation, the development of new industries is very necessary.
