Agriculture in the Vitebsk region has embarked on a path of intensive development
June 24, Rossony / Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. Vitebsk region's agriculture has embarked on a path of intensive development. This was stated today by the chairman of the regional executive committee, Alexander Kosinets, at an on-site meeting in Rossony district, BELTA correspondent reports.
The first mowing in the region is expected to yield an average of about 15 feed units per head of cattle, which will be the best indicator in recent years. From 1 hectare of land allocated for fodder, it is planned to harvest 230 centners of fodder, while last year 160 centners were harvested from 1 hectare. Moreover, thanks to compliance with harvesting regulations, high-quality fodder is being stored.
Meanwhile, Alexander Kosinets demanded that farm and district managers stop blaming unfavorable weather conditions. "Vitebsk region is not a zone of risky farming. The issue lies in organizational work and personnel," the governor emphasized. -0-
