Agricultural enterprises should start operating without state subsidies - N. Domashkevich
January 26, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Agricultural enterprises should start operating without state subsidies. This demand was made to the Vitebsk region's farmers by the President's aide - chief inspector for the Vitebsk region, Nikolai Domashkevich, at a meeting of the regional executive committee today, BELTA correspondent reports.
The head of state spoke about subsidy-free, profitable operation of agricultural enterprises at the IV All-Belarusian People's Congress. Partners of Belarus in the Single Economic Space - Russia and Kazakhstan - insist on reducing state investment in the industry.
At the same time, according to the President's aide, agricultural and processing enterprises in the region fail to receive significant funds due to the low quality of raw materials. Thus, in 2010, one of the milk processing enterprises had to return almost 2 thousand tons of milk to farms due to its low quality. The losses of agricultural enterprises amounted to Br19 billion.
According to Nikolai Domashkevich, in 2010, the lost profits of the region's agricultural enterprises in animal husbandry exceeded Br53 billion, which is equivalent to the monthly wage fund of these organizations. -0-
