SPC "MazolovoGaz" holds leading positions in the industry and is an attractive place of work for the youth of the Vitebsk region

The Vitebskoblgaz branch – the MazolovoGaz agricultural enterprise – has earned a reputation as a modern and promising enterprise, becoming an attractive place of work for young people.

Recently, the Day of Agricultural and Processing Industry Workers of the Agro-Industrial Complex was solemnly celebrated here, honoring the workers thanks to whom the enterprise approached its professional holiday with high results.

According to the results of the republican competitions among agricultural branches of gas supply organizations, which are part of Beltopgaz Production Association, the MazolovoGaz team became the best in harvesting leguminous crops and received the title of "Honorary Winner" for achievements in harvesting grain crops in 2019.

At the celebration, workers were honored, thanks to whom the agro-complex is developing and achieving excellent results.

– Thanks to your labor, MazolovoGaz has achieved such high performance, – welcomed the guests Petr Shershen, member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Honored Power Engineer of Belarus, General Director of Vitebskoblgaz UP. – A good team has been created here, which is focused on results. And I am grateful to everyone who created the enterprise and put a lot of effort into its prosperity.

The dedication to a common cause, a responsible and disciplined approach by the entire team ensured the exemplary performance of the farm. This year's sowing campaign was completed on time, with every centimeter of land sown meticulously and according to strict technology. The uninterrupted operation of machinery was ensured by its timely repair during the preparatory spring period. All this allowed the farm to become one of the leaders in the harvest at the traditional regional festival "Dazhynki" in Braslav, where the chairman of the regional executive committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, presented an award to the director of SPK "MazolovoGaz", Roman Babaev, for 1st place in the second group among agricultural organizations in the harvesting of grain and leguminous crops. The farm was also awarded a 3rd-degree diploma at the district festival of rural workers. Second place among combine operators in the 3rd group was taken by senior combine operator Sergey Melderes and his partner combine operator Yuri Ermak.

The farm is actively implementing new methods and developments. A strong emphasis is placed on digital technologies, some of which have already become a real support for agricultural activities. In order to achieve economic efficiency, the farm is actively considering the implementation of precision farming technology. In the current season, a technology based on equipping "Kirovets K744R4" tractors with cultivators KSS 9.0 with autopilots was tested. The tractor follows a programmed route, and the autopilot accounts for field unevenness, making the necessary adjustments. Digital technologies are designed to significantly ease the work of the machine operator. This approach saves time, fuel, and allows for an increase in hectares harvested and, consequently, an increase in the wages of machine operators. 630 hectares of winter wheat have already been allocated for the 2020 harvest. In the new season, close attention will be paid to a demonstration field of 40 hectares in the Buyany tract. Seven foreign hybrids and two varieties of Belarusian selection have been sown on it. Their winter hardiness, yield, susceptibility to diseases will be determined experimentally, and ripening periods will be identified. Specialists will evaluate plant protection products from one of the Russian companies.

This year, a hardware module has been implemented in the Agricultural Production Cooperative (APC), which is compatible with all scales at the breeding farm, and its use reduces the costs of weighing livestock. At the breeding farm and the farm in the village of Buyany, where heifers are raised, the Ovi-bovi system has been implemented, which ensures round-the-clock communication between the sensor and the receiving station, and when a heifer is in heat, it automatically sends an SMS to the inseminator, the complex manager, and the zootechnician-breeder.

These and many other innovations, along with a targeted professional approach, contribute to the successful development of the livestock sector. As of November 1, the cattle population was 3405 heads, which is 320 heads more than in the corresponding period of last year. Gross milk production amounted to 7995 tons, or 106.1 percent of the same period in 2018. Milk yield per cow for the ten months of the current year was 7451 kilograms (an increase of 426 kilograms). At the complex for raising breeding cattle and milk production, 10023 kilograms were obtained from one cow in January-October 2019 (an increase of 1375 kilograms). 456 tons of cattle weight gain were obtained (or 124.6 percent of the 2018 period).

This year, the construction of a shed for young cattle in the villages of Kalinovo and Buyany has been completed at the farm. In the village of Sokolniki, two buildings for housing bulls for 200 heads, and sheds for hay and roughage on the territory of the milk production complex have been put into operation.

Housing remains a constant focus for the APC. In Sokolniki, the construction of two individual houses has been completed, and in the agro-town of Mazolovo, the foundation for two more has been laid. A striking local landmark, along with the shopping complex, is the multifunctional sports complex and playground located near the new buildings. In 2020, the APC plans to implement many more bold ideas.

The residents of Mazolovo never cease to admire the transformations of their small homeland, and the place itself, where all conditions for work, recreation, upbringing and development of children have been created, has been nicknamed "the village of the future" by the people. In the future, it will become even more modern and attractive. As noted by Kristina Piskunova, lead engineer at Vitebskoblgaz, young people are proud to work in such a modern production.

The employees of "Mazolovogaz" were presented with well-deserved awards. Roman Babaev received a Letter of Gratitude from the Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus. The best workers – economists, engineers, agronomists, mechanics, tractor drivers, livestock breeders, foremen, drivers, zootechnicians, operators for fattening and raising young stock, and others – were awarded honorary diplomas, letters of gratitude, and valuable gifts.

The farm workers not only work but also find time for creative pursuits. Together with the teams of "Vitebskoblgaz", they took part in a vibrant, festive concert program.
