Seven "Euroopt" stores will open in January in Polotsk and Novopolotsk

December 31, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. Eurotorg LLC (Evroopt store chain) has signed an agreement to open seven stores in Polotsk and Novopolotsk in January 2011. Company director Andrei Zubkov told a BELTA correspondent about this. Long-term lease agreements for five stores in Polotsk and two in Novopolotsk have been concluded with businessman Vladimir Zakharov. The total area of all retail outlets reaches 7 thousand sq.m. By concluding this agreement, Evroopt significantly strengthens its already leading position in the food retail market in Belarus. According to the agreement, the stores are to be transferred to Eurotorg's use from January 1, 2011. It will take the retail operator less than a month to equip the retail sections and reopen the stores, but already under the Evroopt brand, well-known in Belarus. In Polotsk and Novopolotsk, the largest food retailer will adhere to its traditional policy of "stores with high price attractiveness." Thus, prices for goods in Evroopt stores will be lower than in other retail outlets in these cities. "I am sure that consumers will save an average of 20-25%. This primarily applies to grocery, fish, chicken products, preserved vegetables, and fruits," noted Andrei Zubkov. A week ago, Evroopt already opened one store in Novopolotsk. "Currently, it is showing excellent results and tremendous momentum," said the director of Eurotorg. At the same time, the food retail market in Polotsk and Novopolotsk was assessed by the interlocutor as sufficiently developed and having reached a high level of competition. According to the company director, the chain does not intend to stop at opening stores in these cities. "In general, we have quite ambitious plans for implementing similar projects in various parts of the country," admitted Andrei Zubkov. The company is interested in having a presence in all Belarusian cities with a population of over 10,000 people. Currently, forty discount stores operate in Belarus under the Evroopt brand, most of which are located in the capital, as well as in Mogilev, Grodno, Gomel, Bobruisk, Vitebsk, and Orsha. More than 110,000 people use their services daily. -0-
