Seven young families from the Gluboksky district are competing for the title of "Master of the Land".

August 7, Minsk / Yulia Vanina - BELTA /. One of the district stages of the republican family agricultural project "Master of the Village-2009" is being completed in the Glubokoye district of the Vitebsk region. As Mikhail Denisenko, the second secretary of the BRSM Central Committee, told a BELTA correspondent, the organizers named the tour in honor of the Year of the Native Land - "Master of the Land". Seven young families began competing for this title in early July. Among them are two large families: the Parfelyuk family from SPC "Petrovshchina" is raising 5 children, and the Grabko family from OJSC "Glubokoye Poultry Farm" has the status of a family-type children's home and is raising 9 children. The Grabko family is also a prize-winner of the republican project "Master of the Village-2008". On August 9, one of the competition stages called "Unmown Strip" will be held at SPC "Petrovshchina". On this day, participants of the project will be welcomed with bread and salt by the district and farm leaders, as well as local cultural workers at the Petrovshchina rural house of culture. After the solemn part and the "Zazhinki" ceremony, the participating families will compete in the grain field. Each family will harvest rye, tie sheaves, and set up stooks on their assigned plot. When summing up the results, the jury will pay special attention to the cleanliness of the stubble, the cut of the straw, and the volume of the sheaf, the correctness of the binding - a straw tie for binding the sheaf, and the setting up of stooks - several sheaves in a specific way for drying. The final stage of the Glubokoye district "Master of the Village" is scheduled for August 16. On this day, contestants will be invited to participate in several competitions at once: family self-presentation, creative performances, an intellectual quiz on the history of peasantry, painting, art, national customs and traditions. The family agricultural project "Master of the Village" was first launched in 2007 in the Glubokoye district on the initiative of young people. The competition helps young families settle in rural areas, enhances the prestige of agricultural professions, and strengthens family traditions. In 2009, the youth union received support from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food in conducting all stages. 811 young families from six regions of the republic are participating in the national project. For six months (since April 20), contestants have been demonstrating their "Plowman" abilities in the "Polushko-pole" competition, their harvesting skills in the "Unmown Strip" competition, and others. Three district competitions were determined locally based on the specifics of the region. The fourth competition for the "Best Rural Homestead" is mandatory for all participants. In it, families are given the opportunity to showcase the originality of their design, the well-kept appearance, and the coziness of their personal plot and housing. Regional stages of the project will start on August 20. The results of "Master of the Village-2009" are planned to be announced by November 20. -0-
