A family alley was laid in the Millennium Park in Vitebsk
The project to lay alleys and groves of family trees in different parts of Belarus was initiated by the country's youth. The creation of green zones is a tribute to the tradition of honoring ancestors and, at the same time, a contribution to the future, creating more comfortable living conditions.
In the Vitebsk region, the idea of the BRSM activists was supported by the local authorities, and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus acted as the coordinator. Ecologists determined where and what kind of plantings to place, their appearance, and infrastructure.
— In 2019, a large-scale landscaping effort was carried out in the Vitebsk region, involving representatives of work collectives and public organizations, and youth, — said Viktor Galanov, Chairman of the Regional Committee for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection. — "Family Parks" were laid this year in Novopolotsk, Verkhnedvinsk, Postavy, and Богушевск, and will soon adorn Orsha, Lepel, Gorodok, and Dokshitsy.
Viktor Anatolyevich took the opportunity and, together with his son Dmitry, planted a tree in honor of his 15th wedding anniversary. Not far from them, the Chairman of the City Council of Deputies, Vladimir Beleevich, worked with his wife Olga and son Evgeny.
— This is an excellent initiative. The proof is the number of people who came here after learning about the project through acquaintances or social media, — said Vladimir Iosifovich. — My family members are participating in such a large-scale event for the first time and have been eagerly awaiting this event.
A total of 50 saplings were planted in the 1000th Anniversary of Vitebsk Park alley. Organizers presented each family with a commemorative sign, testifying that they have their own family tree.
— Until recently, I lived near the Sports Palace, and in my childhood and youth, I used to walk by the pond. The park used to be a sorry sight. I think after the improvement, it will become a great place for recreation, — said Yevgeny Danilov from Vitebsk. — My wife Diana and daughter Sofia decided to contribute our part to this noble cause.
The large Yeryomenko family also did not stand aside from socially useful work. Dmitry and Irina were helped in landscaping by their three daughters — Masha, Ksyusha, and Katyusha.
