The Dunder family from the Glubokoye district took 2nd place in the final of the "Lord of the Village" project

July 9 marked the conclusion of the final of the Republican family agricultural project "Master of the Village". Six families, winners of the regional stages, competed in Gorki for the title of project winner.

The families took part in the competition events: "Bread is the Head of Everything!", "Comic Relay", "Rural Pickles", "For Firewood", "Kupala Wreath".

The winners were:

1st place - VERAKSA Family, Gomel region;
2nd place - DUNDER Family, Vitebsk region;
3rd place - ZANEVSKIYE Family, Grodno region.

By the way, it was in the Vitebsk region - in the Gluboksky district - that the family agricultural competition "Master of the Village" was first held, which was very popular with young people and eventually grew into a republican project.

By the way, the head of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin and his deputy Vyacheslav Durnov visited the Dunder homestead.

Having won the district and regional competitions of the republican youth agricultural project "Master of the Village", Dmitry and Victoria Dunder understood that they would now have to defend the honor not only of Glubokoe region, but of the entire Vitebsk region at its final stage. Therefore, when the emotions from the victories subsided, they sat down at the table and, without false modesty, discussed the strengths and weaknesses of their team. They considered spending energy on training in log sawing, and preparing and stacking firewood to be a pointless activity. They know how to do it. Falling behind their rivals in this competition in Verkhnedvinsk was a result of overconfidence. They hurried, grabbed the first saw they found in the shed, and lost to their rivals in speed. They had to catch up in other competitions. Therefore, when preparing for the republican stage, they changed their tools first thing. Dmitry swaddled a doll a couple more times. Their daughter Kira is 6 years old, Zakhar is 3; they had already lost the swaddling skills. The other competitions were familiar. They "polished" their presentation and agreed that Victoria would not experiment, but would use a traditional sourdough starter for the каравай (round bread).

And here are Gorki. A tense day of competition. They "prepared" firewood, did not falter in the "comic relay race", prepared excellent draniki (potato pancakes), cut vegetables, and served the table beautifully.

– We didn't know what the jury's assessment would be, of course, and we were worried, – Victoria said later. – The most difficult part was searching for vegetables with our eyes tied. The men had to gather onions and potatoes, and the women had to gather carrots and beets. The children helped, especially Kira; her hints helped each of us find our vegetable.

The Dunders were a noticeable couple at the competition. A nearly two-meter-tall man, next to him a Thumbelina, and two peas: a daughter and a son. But this was a truly cohesive family team, where it was evident that work in the family is not divided into male and female tasks; whoever is free rolls up their sleeves. Both are rural residents. They work at the leading agricultural enterprise of the Glubokoe region, UP "Koroli".

She is an economist, he is a mechanic with an engineering degree. They have been married for seven years and have two children. They lived in a house provided by the farm. But they decided they needed their own. Now they are engaged in construction and run a large private farm. There are four pigs, a bull calf, and chickens in the barn, and more than 3 hectares of land in the field. While they are competing, proving to their rivals that good farmers live in the Vitebsk region, their livestock is looked after by acquaintances. They were the first with congratulations when the jury summed up the results of the competition and announced the winners. The Dunder family was awarded second place.

– After 7 PM, the phone was constantly signaling – congratulations came one after another from acquaintances and strangers. – We were also glad that we did not let down our Vitebsk region.
