Seventeen enterprises and organizations were included in the Vitebsk Oblast Honor Board based on the results of 2010

Thanks to the diligence, thrift, education and professionalism of citizens, the Vitebsk region maintains positive socio-economic development dynamics, despite tough market conditions. This was stated by the First Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Vladimir Novatsky today at the solemn ceremony of inscribing the winners of the competition for the results of 2010 on the Vitebsk Region Honor Board and the Vitebsk Honor Board, a BELTA correspondent reports. The development dynamics are ensured by the consistent implementation of the program approved at the 4th All-Belarusian People's Assembly, Vladimir Novatsky emphasized. Thus, in January-March, the region fulfilled the gross regional product target by 109.2%, the sales profitability in agricultural organizations was 6%, and the target indicator for energy saving was minus 7.9% against the target of minus 6%. Housing construction volumes increased by almost 25% compared to the first quarter of 2010, with about 133.4 thousand square meters of residential area commissioned. The number of people employed in the economy increased by almost 5 thousand, reaching over 570 thousand people in January-March. "Today, more than ever, the introduction of modern technologies and the latest equipment is of paramount importance, which is impossible without the knowledge and skills of the working person," Vladimir Novatsky is confident. In his opinion, the fact that the event is held in the Year of Entrepreneurship is symbolic. The implementation of the tasks set for this year allows for finding new sources of economic growth and improving well-being through the development of human creative potential, the search for new ideas and technologies. By honoring the front-runners, the region pays tribute to the most reputable teams and workers who set a good pace for the entire national economic complex of the Dvina region, Vladimir Novatsky emphasized. 17 enterprises and organizations were inscribed on the Vitebsk Region Honor Board: PRUP "Vitebskoblgaz", RUPDP "Begomlsky Zavod "Vetrazy", PRUP "Orshansky Opytny Mekhanichesky Zavod "Metallist", SOOO "LLK-NAFTAN", OOO "Yudzhen", Vitebsk Branch of RUP "Beltelecom", ZAO "Vulkan", OAO "Bazis-Novopolotsk", OAO "Polotskbyt", OAO "Vitebsky Rassvet", OAO "Ob'edinenie "Lotos", Vitebsk State Technological University, Gymnasium No. 1 of Vitebsk, Belarusian Puppet Theater "Lyalka", editorial offices of Vitebsk city newspapers "Vitbichi" and "Vecherniy Vitebsk", Vitebsk State Specialized Children and Youth Sports School of the Olympic Reserve No. 2, Lepel Central District Hospital. 20 enterprises and organizations were recognized as competition winners in the regional center. All winners were presented with honorary certificates for being inscribed on the Honor Board, and the teams were also awarded cash prizes in the amount of 100 base units. In addition, representatives of these enterprises and organizations were invited today to a solemn meeting and a festive concert dedicated to Labor Day at the Vitebsk Regional Philharmonic. -0-
