Seven hundred drummers and majorettes, a super quest, and "Rainbow over Vitebsk." What else is "Slavianski Bazaar - 2021" preparing?

Only a few days are left until the start of "Slavianski Bazaar – 2021". Officially, the festival will arrive in the city over the Dvina on July 15. But, as always, the atmosphere of "Slavianski" will be felt much earlier. At rural farmsteads, in the "city of masters", in theaters and museums specially preparing an extensive program for the forum... Which festival venues are definitely worth paying attention to? Viktor Glushin, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, spoke about this at a briefing.

"Slavianski Bazaar" is not only the Summer Amphitheater and the "Vitebsk" Concert Hall, believes Viktor Valerievich:

– It is also a multitude of other vibrant venues where everyone, without a doubt, will find something to their liking, whether they are a connoisseur of culture, a lover of sports and an active lifestyle, or, let's be honest, a culinary gourmet. For those who value sports, the main venue will be located in the floodplain of the Vitba River. A number of events will be held there, including open tournaments in beach volleyball and football, and streetball. On Youth Day, which traditionally takes place during "Slavianski Bazaar", a youth race of 6.4 kilometers will be organized. Also, on the site near the Summer Amphitheater on this day, the Union State tournament and the Governor's Cup in kettlebell lifting will be held.

A boxing match between Belarusian and Russian athletes is also scheduled for July 18.

An extensive program is planned for Victory Square. On the opening day of the festival, the International Festival-Competition of Drummer Girls and Majorettes will be held here. The number of participants is impressive - about 700 people! There will be something to listen to and watch at the show of brass bands, a competition featuring folk instruments, and the open competition of everyday dance "Tanchym Razam"... For children (and, of course, adults), a puppet yard will be open near the Town Hall. In Frunze Park, near the fountain, everyone who loves good music from past years is invited to meet.

The seventh and, due to the magic of numbers, юбилейный fest "Na Semi Vetrakh" ("On Seven Winds"), loved by the audience, has many surprises in store. About 500 people will take part in it, the interlocutor announced:

- These are representatives of four countries: Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, and Germany.

By the way, this year a stage will be set up on Pushkinskaya Square. A special festival riverboat will cruise along the Dvina, delighting guests and residents of Vitebsk. An open-air cinema courtyard will be located at Tolstoy Street, 7, and near the stairs of the Assumption Cathedral, there will be a music stage where local and visiting artists will perform. Among them, we will see the much-loved drummers.

During the "bazaar," Tolstoy Street will also become the city's gastro center. Among the interesting features: fragrant shashlik and barbecue will be prepared right before your eyes over an open fire. A dizzying aroma throughout the area is guaranteed!

Those interested in history, pay attention! Museums and tourist information centers have prepared a diverse program. Unusual free themed excursions are particularly attractive. For example, a first-person tour – "A Journey Through 19th Century Vitebsk." A so-called "Random Excursion" is also planned. Its route can be chosen right during the event by randomly drawing an envelope, like in a super quest.

Following a good tradition, the international festival "Rainbow over Vitebsk" also takes place during the "cornflower" days. This year it will bring together participants from six countries, including Turkey, Armenia, and Moldova.
