Serbian Kruševac becomes Novopolotsk's 20th twin city
Novopolotsk has a new 20th twin city - the Serbian Kruševac, as reported by the Novopolotsk City Executive Committee.
Contacts at the city leadership level were established several years ago at an economic forum, and since then, a number of delegations have been exchanged. The culmination was the signing of a corresponding agreement on partnership and friendship between the mayors today, which provides for comprehensive cooperation. Kruševac celebrates its City Day on June 28, so the signing of the document became a kind of gift for its residents. As noted by the Chairman of the Novopolotsk City Executive Committee, Dmitry Demidov, business contacts between enterprises and organizations of the two cities in the oil sector, light industry, and other areas will be actively established. The parties also see great prospects in the fields of tourism, culture, and education. Agreements have already been reached on organizing mutual student internships and exchanges of school and college groups. A delegation from Kruševac, led by Mayor Dragi Nestorović, arrived in Novopolotsk last evening and will stay until June 29. Today's program includes visits to the Museum of History and Culture of Novopolotsk, the territorial center for social services for the population, and the central city hospital, OJSC "Naftan" and its health resort, LLC "Lyubava LIS", and the "Polimir" plant. On June 29, the delegation is expected in the urban settlement of Borovukha, where the guests will visit enterprises and the Olympic Reserve College.
