Sergei Rumas on sowing campaign in Vitebsk region: everything must be clear and efficient
Sergey Rumas stated that the sowing period is always a difficult time for farmers. "However, everyone is sowing. Therefore, the work must be organized clearly and efficiently," he emphasized.
The Prime Minister paid serious attention in his conversation with the head of the region to the implementation of Decree No. 70 "On the Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex of the Vitebsk Region" in the region, and also discussed problematic issues on specific matters requiring government involvement.
Nikolai Sherstnev dwelled on the specifics of sowing in the northern region of the country. "It would seem that last year agricultural work in the Vitebsk region began unusually early: sowing began on April 1, and we completed it within a month. This year, farmers have been working in the fields since March: applying organic matter, feeding winter crops, and plowing is in full swing. If the weather does not let us down, we expect that this spring will help us achieve larger volumes of sowing of cereal crops, corn, and generally carry out the campaign at a higher level," noted the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee.
According to him, a special emphasis this year is placed on working with personnel. "We are focusing the attention of all specialists and machine operators on a conscientious attitude to work. It is very important to meet deadlines, but the quality of the work performed is no less significant," added the governor.
