The FEZ "Vitebsk" plans to hold a business forum in the Wielkopolska Voivodeship in the summer of 2009

March 26, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. The administration of the FEZ "Vitebsk" plans to hold a business forum in the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship (Poznan, Poland) in mid-2009. This was announced to a BELTA correspondent by Oleg Kondratovich, Head of the Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Department of the FEZ administration. The joint Belarusian-Polish event is stipulated by a cooperation agreement between the FEZ administration and the Polish company DAZIN sp. z o.o., which was signed during the "Investment Initiatives of the Vitebsk Region" forum. In accordance with the document, the parties agreed to assist Belarusian and Polish enterprises in implementing joint investment projects in Belarus and Poland, and to initiate joint business meetings and consultations for interested business circles of the two countries. The cooperation between the FEZ administration and the Polish company has already resulted in the implementation of a project in the FEZ "Vitebsk" for the production of finishing materials and interior items with Polish investments. The signed agreement will contribute to the activation of business dialogue and the full utilization of the opportunities and scientific and technical potential of businesses of the two countries in the implementation of priority projects, believes Oleg Kondratovich. The administration of the FEZ "Vitebsk" considers cooperation with Polish business as a priority area of investment cooperation. During the Vitebsk investment forum, the FEZ administration also discussed the possibilities of organizing production facilities oriented towards Eastern and Western markets with representatives of the Lodzkie Voivodeship (Poland), the Northern Branch of the Polish Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone. During the negotiations, ways were outlined to assist Polish investors in finding partners for the implementation of projects that are priority for the FEZ "Vitebsk", in particular, the creation of a transport and logistics center, and the organization of production of sanitary ware and medical devices. A company has also been identified that will provide support to Polish businessmen, residents of the Pomeranian SEZ, when entering Eastern markets. Agreements on information exchange and assistance in promoting the opportunities of the FEZ were also reached during working meetings between the management of the Vitebsk FEZ and representatives of the diplomatic missions of Poland, the Slovak Republic, India, China, and Ukraine, held within the framework of the Vitebsk business forum events. The FEZ "Vitebsk" was established on August 4, 1999.
