FEZ "Vitebsk" presented 12 projects worth 45 million euros at the investment forum

May 20, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The "Vitebsk" free economic zone (FEZ) presented 12 projects with a total cost of over 45 million euros at the international forum "Innovative Business - Investments in the Future," which is taking place in Vitebsk on May 20-21, the deputy head of the FEZ's investment and foreign economic relations department, Ilona Terletskaya, told a BELTA correspondent. Investors were offered a project to organize the production of LED equipment for lighting houses and buildings within the "Vitebsk" FEZ. The construction of production facilities, purchase of equipment, raw materials, and product certification require 1.5 million euros. A project for bottling mineral water and beverages, costing 4 million euros, can be implemented at OJSC "Vityaz," which has its own artesian and mineral water wells. Their chemical composition matches the best samples produced in Belarus. At the same time, the potential of these sources is used less than half to meet Vityaz's own needs. Two more projects proposed by the "Vitebsk" FEZ at the forum concern the creation of a wood deep processing enterprise worth 1.5 million euros and a solid municipal waste recycling and processing plant with an investment volume of 20 million euros. Eight investment projects are currently in the initial stage of organization, Ilona Terletskaya noted. These include projects for the production of soles and heels made of rubber and synthetic polymers (1.3 million euros), the production of special-purpose vehicles (2.6 million euros), the development of fire extinguishing agent production (3.7 million euros), the production of road construction equipment and machinery (1 million euros), thermal insulation facade panels with clinker tiles (4 million euros), packaging products made of polyethylene and polypropylene films (1 million euros), and the development of production and expansion of services for the transportation of liquefied gases (2.4 million euros). In addition, the Orsha Aircraft Repair Plant is implementing a project for the reconstruction and re-equipment of its production base, costing 2.3 million euros. The "Vitebsk" FEZ was established in August 1999. Currently, a total of 38 investment projects are being implemented in the FEZ. More than 60% of the residents of the "Vitebsk" FEZ are joint and foreign enterprises established with the participation of investors from 13 countries, including Germany, Poland, the USA, the Czech Republic, Great Britain, Russia, Canada, Holland, and Israel. The industrial potential of the FEZ is based on enterprises operating in the fields of mechanical engineering, woodworking, food, chemical, fuel, and light industries. -0-
