FEZ "Vitebsk" established business contacts with colleagues from Kyrgyzstan and China
This took place at the recent International Investment Forum in the Naryn region (Kyrgyzstan). This will contribute to domestic businesses entering new sales markets and connecting them to global economic initiatives.
A trilateral memorandum of cooperation was signed by the heads of administrations of FEZ "Vitebsk", FEZ "Naryn", and the Administration of the Kashgar Special Economic Zone (China). As reported to "VV" by the Vitebsk FEZ, this format of cooperation should promote the integration of enterprises and enhance cooperation between countries within the framework of implementing the Chinese initiative "Economic Belt of the Great Silk Road". During the forum, the head of the administration of FEZ "Vitebsk", Sergey Yurkevich, acquainted participants with the economic potential of the region, presented the FEZ and the activities of several residents. Business circles of Kyrgyzstan and China showed interest in the products of OOO "PO "Energokomplekt", UP "Polimierkonstruktsiya", OOO "SIVital", ZAO "Pozhtekhnika".
A preliminary agreement has been reached on a visit of the delegation of FEZ "Naryn" to Vitebsk in the fourth quarter of the current year. The significant potential of trade and economic relations with this Kyrgyz region is evidenced by the fact that strategically important highways pass through it, and the Naryn region is the only access to the western regions of China. On the longest river in Kyrgyzstan – Naryn – there are 7 hydroelectric power stations. The region has the potential for the development of the mining industry, as deposits of gold, coal, aluminum, iron, gypsum, marble, and a number of other minerals are being developed and have already been explored. The special natural conditions of the highlands create potential for cooperation in animal husbandry and agricultural product processing. All this can become a starting point for establishing and expanding cooperation between domestic and Kyrgyz enterprises, and the legal conditions and developed infrastructure of FEZ "Vitebsk" will serve as a launchpad for joint projects and business initiatives.
